Division 1: Frampton earned five valuable points when they entertained table- topping Forest Green A.

A brace each for Bob Murray and Simon Ward and a hard won singles point for Paul Carter gave their side the edge.

A maximum for Dave Adamson and a singles win from Olly Tyndal. Adamson also  combined with Ben Glover to win the doubles and secure the draw for the Green.

Yate breezed past Whiteshill Vets A 9-1 with maximums for Andy Cox and Will Berkley, Keith Sheppard won two only losing to Steve Greening.

Cirencester lost 2-8 at home to Woodchester B, with Charlie Jefferies and Paul Bird scoring a point each. Tony Clarkson and Bill Dawe went unbeaten against two player Cirencester before Dawe combined with Dennis Wadley to win the doubles.

Division 2: In this competitive bottom of the table clash it was the home side, Frampton B, who gained the upper hand winning 7-3.

Two wins each for Dave Pearce and Brian Cullis were only bettered by Simon Philp’s maximum. Tim Chancellor was the best on the night for the Pessimists winning two singles and combining to win the doubles with Sue Bailey.

Phoenix B lost out in this late night struggle, going down 3-7 at home to Forest Green B.

The home trio of Mike Davis, Pete Stuart and Nick Watts won a point each. But Craig Smart and Jimmy Haycraft went unbeaten in singles and doubles.

Woodchester C clinched victory over Nailsworth A when Pat Pumphry and John Bunn won the doubles. Dave Pugh was unbeaten for the visitors and Wayne Hopkins scored their other point.

But two wins for Pat and Don Sweeney and another from John had done the damage. A very close match saw Thornbury B beat table topping Phoenix A 6-4.

There were two wins each for Gavin Rogers, Simon Lewis and Mark Attwood and one win each for Laurence Manley, Greg Day and Matt Anderson, before Laurence and Greg won the doubles.

Division 3: Ralph Perry scored the single point for Randwick B as they lost 1-9 at home to Cam B. Lin Callard (2), Bob Cutts (2) and a max for Harry Hogan was made more convincing when Bob and Harry won the doubles.

The highlight of this close encounter between Phoenix E and Thornbury C was a gripping five setter which Bob Waters just lost to Len Pattison.

Graham Eden was unbeaten again for the visitors and Len scored two more. For the home side there was a win each for Andrew Jarvis and Jane Leigh and a brace for Bob before he and Jane won the doubles and secured the draw.

Cam A had Steve Partridge to thank as they beat Frampton C 6-4. Steve was unbeaten on the night including a five game epic against Kim Selfe. Brian McNeil and Bob Wild scored the other singles wins for Cam. Gerry Dupree and Kim won two each for the visitors before Steve and Brian came back from 2 games down to win the doubles in five.

Forest Green C took a 5-0 lead in the derby match against Phoenix D and held on to win 6-4 against a spirited fight back. Keith Foord was unbeaten for the home team and there were two wins for Lucky Gallage and one for Tony Poole.

Andy Hammond scored one and John Catterall two before John and Krzysztof Kowalczuk won the doubles.

Division 4: Phoenix F lost to this seasons title favourites Whiteshill B 1-9 with Chris and Allan Lardner again unbeaten for the visitors.

Only John Armshaw showed any resistance with a singles win and a near miss in the doubles. Terry Jordan recorded the other two points for the Hill men.

A weakened Nailsworth B came unstuck against Phoenix H losing the match 6-4.

Dave Watson and Mike May recorded two wins each for the visitors, but a good team display for Phoenix with Chris Clifton-Sprigg and Les Hanley winning two each and another for Rob Arthur before Chris and Les sealed the victory with a doubles win.

A young Phoenix G team travelled to Randwick C and were not disappointed.

Chris James and Jim Hurford both won two for the home side. But a first league win for Fred Donald and another point for Harry Cowley was only bettered by a first ever maximum for Connor Ward.

Connor and Fred went on to seal the match with a close five set doubles win. Forest Green came out on top in their close and competitive match with Frampton D. Mike King was the best on the night for the home side with a max, but was supported by Richard Wright (2) and Neville Nelder (1).

For the visitors, Pete Seville won two and Chris Philp one before the same two combined to win the doubles and keep the score respectable.
