BEN Morgan believes Gloucester's Heineken Cup win at Edinburgh can be a catalyst for change - but they must not undo the good work this Sunday. Gloucester have lost their last five Aviva Premiership games and sit third from bottom of the table.

However, a 23-12 win in Scotland last weekend saw them move into second in Heineken Cup Pool 6 and, according to Morgan, regain some much-needed belief.

Next up is the return leg, as Edinburgh visit Kingsholm - the first of four home clashes in the Cherry & Whites' next five games.

And Morgan is convinced a win on Sunday would set Gloucester up to drastically turn around their slow start to the season.

“Wins do wonders for the environment,” he said. “There are smiles on faces but we know that the job is not done so it is important that we kick on.

“To be able to get the winning mentality and mindset is going to do wonders. It is just about getting into a winning rhythm.

“We haven't started the Premiership exactly how we wanted to. The Heineken Cup is a different competition and it has got different and just getting to that winning mentality again is going to be crucial.

“We want it to have a reputation of being a hard place to come, where people have a hard time getting points. It is not too late to turn it around.”

Pool 6 is finely poised, with Gloucester able to finish this weekend either top or bottom of the group with just two rounds left to play.

And the England No.8 believes there is cause for optimism, having taken great strides to resolve their early-season issues in the pack.

“It is wide open at the moment so it is important for us to back it up and get a home win,” he added. “In the scheme of things, with our Premiership form, it was a big win.

“If you look at the weekend, we had a really good result and we had pack dominance. Had the field held up a little bit more, then I think we would have gone right over the top of them.

“I definitely feel as if we have had to adjust. At the start of the season we had an idea of what we wanted to do and we have had to change and adapt.

“It is about how we react to that so we are really focussed on tightening up.”
