THE anticipated debut of star signing Lee Hughes was put on ice after today's Skrill Premier match between Forest Green and Salisbury City was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at the New Lawn.

Groundsman Stewart Ward had been hopeful of staging  the game, but 16mm of rain overnight in Nailsworth scuppered his work.

Ady Pennock's side are set to blow away the cobwebs of inactivity with a training session this afternoon.

Rovers' next scheduled match is the BT Sport televised clash at  home to Hereford United next Thursday evening.
