WREXHAM boss Andy Morrell insists he would love to be reunited with suspended Forest Green striker Andy Mangan, but believes his contract at Rovers is a huge stumbling block.

Mangan,27, who returned to the New Lawn in the summer, is the subject of ongoing internal disciplinary proceedings, and boss Ady Pennock said: "Andy has been suspended by the club since before I got here, so that one is out of my hands."

Mangan, who arrived at The Racecourse in January 2010 and scored 23 goals before joining Fleetwood in the summer of 2011.

Morrell stated: “I have spoken to Mangy a couple of times but he has got a lot of things to sort out with his club so I don’t think anything will be happening with him for a while.

“I know his club have had a lot of phone calls about him and he has had a lot of phone calls. Obviously he has got goals in him and he is a great character.

“I would love to have players like that around the place but I think there are a few issues for him to sort out first before he looks for another club anywhere.

“I can’t do anything about it unless we are going to buy him out of a huge contract and I am not sure that’s going to happen.

“I think he would love to come back here but he has got a lot of clubs interested in him.”
