Shortwood United 2

HOT-SHOT striker Duncan Culley bagged a brace as Shortwood moved back into play-off contention, writes Jim Cunneen.
Wood’s top scorer took his personal tally to 36 goals and was afforded high praise by co-manager John Evans.
He said: “We worked hard against a good footballing side.
“Duncan Culley was man-of-the- match – not just for his two goals but for his overall performance.”
Culley bagged a fine individual goal after two minutes.
Culley stepped on the gas and ran from inside his own half to fizz into the corner.
Culley scored the second after 62 minutes. Marc Richards put him in and he chipped the advancing Ovala. A defender slid the ball away, although it was going wide, and Culley having continued his run slammed the ball home from a narrow angle.
This win took Shortwood back into the play- off places with three games to go.
