QUEDGELEY'S Scott Redding finished 22nd on the timesheet after today's first two free practice sessions at the all-new Termas de Rio Hondo track in Argentina.

A green and dirty track meant that conditions were less than ideal for the first free practice this morning but, despite the issues, Scott finished the 45-minute session in 11th position.

The track conditions had changed considerably by the time Scott rolled out of pit lane for the second session this afternoon but, while he was able to improve his lap time, he dropped down the order to 22nd position after struggling to find a workable set up on his Honda RCV1000R.

Reddingsaid: “The day started well, with a good run in the opening free practice session, despite the track being really dirty.

"The second practice session wasn’t so good, as I struggled with bike set up. We tried a number of things to try and find a good direction and we’ve got more ideas to try tomorrow, but the situation is complicated.

"It’s not just the bike set up but the tyres as well. The grip drops off a lot after just four laps, so it’s not possible yet to say which tyre we’ll use for the race.

"We’ll only be able to make a decision about that tomorrow, once we get more rubber down and the track conditions improve.”
