MAY is National Watersports Month and Frampton on Severn Sailing Club (FOSSC) is hoping to get as many people out on the water as possible on RYA Push the Boat Out weekend.
On May 17, the club will be opening its doors and inviting people of all ages and abilities to come along and have a go at sailing.
FOSSC will be one of the many sailing clubs and centres across the country taking part in RYA Push the Boat Out weekend.
Those new to the sport, looking to get back on the water and regular sailors are all invited to the open day, with have-a-go sessions and fun events for all the family taking place.
Starting at 11am and finishing at 5pm the club's fleet of training dinghies, all helmed by experienced sailors and dinghy instructors, will be on the water to take visitors for a sail.
No booking is required, and there’s no age limit. Refreshments will be available in the galley all day.
Just bring footwear that can get wet, and a kagoule if the weather is damp – everything else will be provided free of charge.
Ian Cook, commodore of FOSSC, said: “We are delighted to be taking part in the RYA Push the Boat Out. We are inviting the local community to come down to the club, have a go at sailing, see what the club has to offer and get involved - who knows, you might just get hooked!”
