FOREST Green Academy starlets Aden Baldwin and Niall Morgan jet-off to Italy this week to represent England U19s in the European Colleges tournament.
After earning two caps against Wales and Scotland recently, defender Baldwin,16, and striker Morgan,18, have made the 18-man England cut.
Having avoided favourites Spain and Italy in the draw, Morgan insists England have a great chance in their group.
“We’ve got Panama and San Marino in our group, so we hope to reach the semi-finals,” said Morgan.
“Scott Bartlett, our Academy manager at Forest Green, has been brilliant for us.”
And Bartlett is delighted to see two of his young fledglings earn international recognition.
“We’re delighted to have two internationals in our youth system,” said Bartlett.
“The fact they both came through our youth system makes it really pleasing and credit goes to all the coaches that have worked with them throughout their journey"
On the season as a whole Bartlett added: "We’ve had a great year and because of the success our team has enjoyed in our leagues, cups and against professional opposition our players are now gaining individual recognition.
" Three years ago we set out to restructure our youth system, I believe in the pathway we provide, there is a clear and realistic chance an u7 can make it at FGR right though the system, firstly into the Academy at SGS college and then the first team."
