SGS Stroud Rugby team secured second place at the annual Cirencester 7s tournament last week.
The SGS Stroud Rugby programme is still fairly new to the campus and is an expansion of the extremely successful SGS Filton Rugby programme.
The programme is headed up by ex- Exeter Chiefs player Rob Higgins, and enables students to train several times as week, compete against other colleges and sixth forms in the region, all whilst studying for an academic qualification.
Higgins, head coach of SGS Stroud Rugby said: "After a difficult first season as head coach we entered the Cirencester 7s with the main aim being enjoyment for all.
"To come second in our group, reach the main final and narrowly miss out to Bath was a great achievement for the boys involved and SGS Rugby as a whole.
"I am immensely proud of what the players achieved at the tournament and now we now look forward to the challenge of the National College 7s on May 21."
