CHARLOTTE ELLIS posted her best finish of the season when claiming eighth spot in the Kristianstad Ahus Ladies PGA Open on the LET Access Tour last week, writes Danny Hall.

Dropped shots at the end of each round cost her a potential victory as the Minchinhampton Golf Club member from Cockleford was just five shots behind the local winner Isabella Ramsey.

Charlotte was delighted to fire five birdies in her closing round of 70 which moved her up the leaderboard and she hopes she can carry that form over to this week's full European tour event, the Deloitte Open in Amsterdam which has a prize fund of 250,000 euros.

"My placing in Sweden was all down to my putter because my long game was not pretty at times," said Charlotte from Holland.

"I made some small adjustments to my swing and even in two practice rounds here I am hitting the ball so much better.

"I do feel comfortable playing on the Access (second tier) Tour and I should be challenging for a victory more weeks than not."
