WYCLIFFE Preparatory School athletes brought home the silver for Great Britain in a prestigious competition.

Wotton-under-Edge sisters Isla and Evie Green and Emma Livingstone were selected to compete in the World Biathle Tour Event in Pisa.

Isla, aged 13, came second in the Youth C category and Evie, aged 11, came second in the Youth D Category.

Emma, aged 13 and boarder at Wycliffe in Stonehouse, came third in the Youth C Category.

In Category C, Emma and Isla had to do a 500m run along the Terrenia Marine Promenade, swim 100m with a strong undercurrent and then run the final 500m. All three were competing in 33C temperatures. They were part of the 33-member GB team made up of youths and adults. Twenty-five of the GB team came home with medals.

The girls’ success follows hot on the heels of their recent accomplishment at the GB’s Biathlon Championships at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

Mr Adrian Palmer, Head of Wycliffe Prep School, said: “This is fantastic news and we are very proud of their achievement. The good news is that they will be here for the rescheduled Sports Day. It is a wonderful result.”
