SHORTWOOD United hot-shot Duncan Culley is set for a trial with League Two outfit Oxford United at Abingdon Town, tonight, 7.30pm.
Oxford head coach Michael Appleton will run the rule over the talented striker, who caught the eye in the Southern League South and West Division last season, bagging an impressive haul of 39 goals in league and cup competitions.
He recently completed a three- week trial at League Two side Cheltenham Town.
The Cardiff-based player bagged four goals for Shortwood on Tuesday night, after coming on as a second half substitute at Brimscombe.
He spent time on trial during the campaign in America looking to earn a deal with a number of professional clubs and was the subject of several approaches from rival clubs in England.
A former Hartpury College student, he also played a pivotal role in Shortwood’s FA Cup run, scoring in the victory over Conference side Aldershot Town, which saw the Nailsworth club reach the first round proper.
