A TRIO of Stroud Masters swimmers recently competed in the Cotswold Open Water Swim at Lake 61 in South Cerney.
All three selected to swim the 3.8km distance made up of four laps of the lake.
In his first attempt at the distance, Rich Smith finished as first veteran in twelfth place overall and posted an excellent time, coming in just under the hour.
Lorraine Savagar finished two places behind and took the first female veteran spot whilst the final member of the team, Jessica Wooddisse, took the prize for first lady and finished second overall.
Earlier in the season the trio were joined by other club members at the monthly mid-week open water events held in Lake 31.
Geoff Twinning took victory in his only swim at the 3.8km distance, whilst both Mark Partridge and Bob Wilson also selected swims of this length.
Greg Clements and Lewis Saunders opted for the 1500m, finishing second and third to Rich Smith. Lorraine Savagar swam on all three occasions, achieving consistent performances in the longer 3.8km distance. Jessica Wooddisse joined her for the first two swims, swimming one of them without a wetsuit.
