CASH-STRAPPED Kidderminster Harriers could be on the verge of letting Michael Gash join Forest Green.

Harriers manager Gary Whild has confirmed that striker Gash is on the verge of leaving the club.

Forest Green boss Ady Pennock is keen to bolster his striking options and Gash, who has not been involved in the last two games for the Aggborough outfit, is also thought to be wanted by Vanarama Conference rivals Nuneaton.

Nuneaton manager Liam Daish, who was Gash’s boss at Ebbsfleet, was spotted at Harriers’ 2-0 defeat to Aldershot.

Whild admitted the cash-strapped club were trying to reduce their wage bill, which was thought to be in the region of £68,000 a month.

Gash has scored 24 goals in all competitions for Kidderminster, including one in the memorable FA Cup win over Peterborough United.

He told the Kidderminster Shuttle: “The thing for me is that the lads who are here are getting paid. We can’t afford Michael Gash so we need to get him fixed up with a new club.

“That’s where we as a club and we’ve got to work with the players we’ve got.

“We were keen to have a fans forum so we can look from the football side tell the fans where we are.

“There is nobody more frustrated than myself and Mark Creighton, who gave his all for the club as a player.”
