The top of the table clash in the FA Women's Premier League South West Division One on Sunday saw Forest Green miss out against Swindon Town.
Both sides went into the meeting at Fairford Town's Cinder Lane home with identical records, locked at the top of the table in South West Division One.
And just a single goal was enough to earn Swindon victory as the home side outmuscled Josh Giddins' team.
A long range strike, which took a deflection on its way through, trickled into the net to hand Rovers opponents victory.
The defeat was just FGR's second in the league in what has been a good season so far.
They are now second with Southampton Saints hot on their tail. Their match-up with Larkhall Athletic on Sunday was postponed.
The Ladies reserves side were without a game on Sunday, however face up to Cheltenham Civil Service next weekend.
