WELSH centre Tom Isaacs has left the club with immediate effect and joined Guinness Pro12 side, Cardiff Blues.
In doing so, Isaacs, who moved to Gloucester from the Ospreys ahead of the current season, will join his home-town club.
Competition for places in the Gloucester back line has been fierce in the opening weeks of the season, and Isaacs has been restricted to three replacement appearances in the Aviva Premiership and two starts in the LV= Cup.
Director of Rugby David Humphreys told the club website that the move across the border would offer Isaacs more playing opportunities.
"Tom has been the complete professional in his time at Gloucester. He's not had as much game time as he would have liked, and Cardiff are looking to add some depth to their playing squad."
"It's a great opportunity for Tom to further his playing career and everyone at the club wishes him all the best for the future.”
