MINCHINHAMPTON mini rugby teams enjoyed a memorable day at Kingsholm in the week before Christmas.

After a stadium tour, including a visit to the changing rooms to see the players' kit laid out for their West Country derby against Bath, the children were allowed on to the hallowed turf for a coaching session with Gloucester and Samoan legend Terry Fanaloua helped by two new Cherry & Whites, Dan Thomas and James Gibbons.

The 35 Minch youngsters enjoyed almost two hours of games and drills.

While eight of the larger lads took part in a pre-match ‘inflatable challenge’ in front of the almost 16,000 crowd, the others formed a guard of honour welcoming the Gloucester and Bath players on to the pitch for their Aviva Premiership clash.

Sadly, the home team came off second best in the derby, with Bath winning 39-16.

A truly inspiring day for the Minch youngsters.
