FUMING Forest Green boss Ady Pennock slammed star striker James Norwood for the costly mistake which saw his side crash out of the FA Trophy.

Norwood suffered the Pennock hairdryer treatment after surrendering possession inside his own box to gift Conference South outfit Ebbsfleet a 1-0 win.

“We lost the game because somebody wants to nutmeg three people in his own box-and then they go and score, Pennock told BBC Radio Glos/FGR Radio.

“If in doubt, kick it out Why do you want to nutmeg people in your own box?

I don’t understand. That person knows, I’ve told him, that he lost us the game. The goal was shambolic, absolutely disgraceful.”

On a bad day for Rovers, Dale Bennett was handed a straight red for a late lunge on Danny Kedwell. The former Watford defender is set to miss the next four matches after picking up a red card in the brawl at FC Halifax Town last month.

Pennock added: "You can't do anything in this day and age, can you? It's a sending-off because the referee said it's a sending-off."
