FOREST Green chairman Dale Vince is lodging another appeal against his side's three-point deduction.

The Football Conference fined play-off chasing Rovers £500 and docked the club three points after an administrative error led to defender Luke Oliver appearing without official registration in the first game of the season at Southport last August.

Ady Pennock's side offered to replay the game – which they won 1-0 – but the request was rejected by the Football Conference.

Rovers claim they have asked relegation threatened Southport, who they entertain at the New Lawn on Saturday, to support their appeal to have the fixture replayed, but say the offer was rebuffed.

The SNJ contacted Southport spokesman Haydn Preece, who said: “Southport have stated the Forest Green administration error that led to a loss of three- points on the opening day of the season is a matter that has to dealt with at Conference Board and FA level. "

A previous appeal to the Football Association (FA) ruled that the Football Conference used: incorrect and irrelevant criteria in exercising its discretion to deny Forest Green Rovers a rematch against Southport, further ruling that FGR had not deliberately done anything wrong and that the Football Conference’s decision was flawed.

However, despite this the FA decided that based on its own criteria, no replay should take place.
