Hartpury footballers Mustapha Bundu and Lewis Fogg helped to guide England Schools Under-18s side to the perfect start in their Centenary Shield campaign.

Bundu made holes in the Wales Schoolboys’ defence, with the striker setting up both goals in a fantastic first half display as England Schools went on to secure all three points in a 2-0 win at Truro City Football Club.

Fogg appeared as a substitute and the full-back comfortably dealt with late Welsh threats to ensure a clean sheet start for the holders.

England’s next game is against Northern Ireland Schoolboys on Friday, March 6th, and both Bundu and Fogg will look to make another positive contribution.

Both have been consistent performers for Hartpury’s college first team with the Under-18s squad recently securing their place in the final of the English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) Boys Colleges Trophy after defeating Stanmore College 2-1.

They will also be a part of the squad that is jetting off to Italy on Sunday (March 8th) after Hartpury were selected to represent the English Colleges FA at a major international youth tournament - the Roma Caput Mundi.

Hartpury’s junior football programme manager, Paul Tassell, said: “Mustapha and Lewis have been fantastic all year and they deserve their chance to be playing on the international stage.

“They have played a major role in our strong season and we are extremely proud of them. Hopefully, they can use this experience to build upon and continue to develop in the future.”
