EBULLIENT Forest Green boss Ady Pennock insists his in-from side must look above rather than behind when they travel to second-placed Barnet on Saturday.

Rovers occupy the final play-off place but have Conference rivals Eastleigh and FC Halifax hanging on to their coat tails with games in hand.

“Halifax and Eastleigh may have games in hand, but we’ve got to look above and bring the teams above us closer to us,” said Pennock.

Rovers are unbeaten in ten games and were buoyed by a thrilling 5-3 New Lawn win against strugglers Southport last Saturday.

Pennock added: “The run the lads have put together is absolutely fantastic and they should be very pleased with themselves.”

Barnet have wobbled of late but returned to winning ways at the weekend with a 3-1 win at Altrincham.

“We’ve nine games to go and the boys are really looking forward to the Barnet game and so they should.

“Barnet were running away with the league at one point, but they’ve had a fantastic season and have a good manager in Martin Allen, so we expect a tough test.”

Pennock was delighted with the partisan backing from the fans against Southport and wants more of the same at Barnet.

“The crowd were really at it against Southport and I hope we can take a large following at the weekend-the boys really appreciate the support.”

Sam Wedgbury (hamstring) and James Norwood (knee) miss out, but James Marwood returns to the squad following his groin injury.
