Chester 1

Forest Green 4

FOREST Green jumped back into the play-offs with an emphatic Easter Monday victory at Chester City.

Ady Pennock’s Rovers have now amassed a club record 72 points - a point more than Jim Harvey’s 2007/08 side.

Jon Parkin bagged a brace, including a penalty, to take his goal haul to 27. In-form winger Elliott Frear found the net for the third game running within 23 minutes.

Chester substitute John Rooney’s free-kick on the cusp of the interval gave Chester a lifeline, but Aarran Racine struck the killer fourth after the break.

With three games to go, Rovers are now just two points behind Macclesfied, who they entertain at the New Lawn on Saturday.
