CIRENCESTER Town have snapped-up Shortwood striker Ross Langworthy.

The 22-year-old former Hartpury College, Gosport and Slimbridge forward scored 44 goals in 141 appearances over three years at Shortwood.

A project coordinator with the Welsh Football Trust, he was the Nailsworth club's leading scorer in Southern League Division One South and West last season, finding the net 18 times.

Shortwood manager Alex Sykes said: "We wish Ross all the best, he got over 20 goals for us (in all competitions ) last year and we'll be needing to fill that gap now.

"I never have a problem with anyone going to a higher level to challenge themselves and wish him the very best of luck."

Co-manager John Evans said: "I also wish him well, he has improved greatly during his time with us and played several different positions, even in goal to help us out.

"He kept a clean sheet too. He will always be welcome back at the Wood."
