STROUD AC athlete Gwen Kinsey saw off 129 competitors in the Cotswold Women Only Sprint Triathlon at Cirencester lakes.
She is set to represent Great Britain in Geneva's European Sprint Triathlon next month, and warmed up with a first-place finish in a gruelling race combining swimming, running and cycling.
A novice cyclist, Gwen works in partnership with Jonathan and Luke Hodgkins of The Bike Works in South Woodchester.
Gwen said: “Luke makes sure that the bike is mechanically spot on and Jonathan is helping with riding tips, he even dusted his bike off recently and did a training session with me.
"I gave everything to the bike section on Sunday, almost falling into the officials in the cycle/run transition as my legs nearly gave way.”
