I HAVE absolutely loved my first few months with Gloucestershire.

It is a great county in terms of the boys in the dressing room and the energy and intensity they bring to the game. I can’t speak more highly of the club and Bristol is a lovely place to live It’s been a great learning curve. It took me a little bit of time to figure out the red ball and unfortunately the white ball hasn’t been my forte at the moment.

I have now joined up with the Australia A squad for the tour of India. We have two four day matches with India A and a One Day International tournament with them and South Africa A It’s going to be awesome fun, I absolutely can’t wait to give it a go and see what happens. It’s my second time in India - having been out on an Academy trip before – and I am looking forward to the challenge of playing against players on different wickets.

It’s definitely a little bit harder going from England to India than Australia to India. The main issue is how much the ball might spin and finding a way to combat it which I am confident I can do.

There are four Victorians in the squad who I haven’t seen for a few months and it is great to catch up with them again.

After the tour I will be coming back to Gloucestershire and will be able to play in the Championship when Maxy (Michael Klinger) goes off for the T20 Champions League.

Maxy is in unbelievable form at the moment. Talking to him on and off the field about the game I have been able to pick up a few things. It’s amazing being able to learn from someone who knows their own game so well and I have definitely chewed his ear off at times.

I have no doubt he could do a job for Australia if selected. He’s been quality in all forms of the game and has been for the last few years. With guys like Adam Voges and Chris Rogers making debut later in their careers so I hope he still gets a chance.
