TOBY Carman smashed 140 for Stroud as they came out on top against Gloucestershire Division rivals Woodmancote.

The former Stroud captain hit 15 fours and five sixes to guide his side to 312 for eight.

Earlier, Chris Job was removed for 18 off just 15 balls after being caught at square leg.

However, James O’Brien (85) and Carman put on a second - wicket partnership of 246 before Carman was bowled by Lewis Lincoln-Gordon for 140.

Woodmancote opened their reply in impressive fashion with Olly Cove smashing 38 in just 45 balls.

Sadly for Woodmancote they never managed to score at the required rate to threaten Ed Mobbs’ side’s total, thanks in no small part to Stroud’s off spinner, Chris Job who snaffled five wickets for 23 from his 10-over spell as Woodmancote finished on 238 runs.

Stroud face leaders Dumbleton on Saturday.
