CAPTAIN Ed Mobbs and Will Golding posted a 121 run partnership to claim a morale boosting away victory for Stroud ahead of their home clash against Painswick on Saturday.

Mobbs hit (57) and Golding (88) for the fourth wicket as Stroud posted 225 from their 50 overs allocation at Chipping Sodbury.

Veteran bowler Gareth Haines chipped in with two wickets for 16 runs as Sodbury were bowled out for 165.

Earlier, Stroud got off to a poor start with opener Chris Job falling for a duck in the first over.

Shortwood United footballer Luke Benneyworth fell for five to leave Stroud in a precarious position.

Former captain Toby Carman contributed a bright 39 runs before being caught and bowled.

The tide changed with Mobbs and Golding in tandem as they put on 121 runs for the fourth wicket.

However, Mobbs was bowled by Campling and the same man accounted for Golding as Stroud ended their innings on 225.
