STEPH Reynolds believes Gloucester have what it takes to make it three in a row after he inspired his team to this year's Singha Premiership Rugby 7s final.

The skipper was in scintillating form as Gloucester took on Exeter Chiefs, London Irish and Bath in Group B at Kingsholm.

The Cherry & Whites got off to a great start with Reynolds helping himself to a double in a 36-5 win over the Chiefs.

A 31-7 win over London Irish was to follow before Reynolds sealed his Man of the Round award with a solid display in the 24-7 triumph over Bath.

And he thinks his side are in the perfect position to retain the trophy they have won for the previous two years at next week's final at Twickenham Stoop.

“It's absolutely brilliant to make it to the final and to have the chance to go and play for the title for the third year in a row is a huge honour,” he said.

“I think the boys really took a lot of going out in front of the Kingsholm crowd and putting on a show and it showed in the way we played.

“It was a brilliant set of performances from us. The main one was Bath in the third game but we had the crowd on side and they were an eighth man.

“We were all really comfortable out there and clicked well. We only had a few days training coming into the tournament but that is what pre season is for.

“It's a great opportunity for the boys to come out early doors in the season and put a marker down by winning the title again.”

While Reynolds will be remembered for his tries on the night he was instrumental in several of Gloucester's scores and will be vital to their hopes of retaining the Singha 7s crown.

And he believes that with some more training under their belts his side will take some beating in London.
