FOREST Green have allowed Evesham United to play Louis McGrory in the FA Cup this Saturday.

McGrory, 18, netted a last-gasp goal on his Evesham debut in a 1-0 home success over in-form Winchester City.

Evesham boss Paul Collicutt, a former Forest Green and Cheltenham Town midfielder, was delighted with McGrory’s impact and is pleased Rovers have given the teenager permission to play in Evesham’s FA Cup preliminary round clash at Chasetown on Saturday.

“I have football friends in other counties and had a text from a contact last Thursday saying there was a player available and asking whether I be interested,” explained Collicutt.

“Louis is 18 and on a professional contract at Forest Green and the club were looking to get some first- team football into him.

“He lives in Swindon and we have got a few lads from there. Because he doesn’t drive, he can get a lift with them.

“We got him signed on and he put in an impressive display against Winchester in difficult circumstances.

“Louis is with us for a month and we are pleased Forest Green have granted him permission to play in the FA Cup.”
