ALL the talk in the build up to Rugby World Cup 2015 might have been about Sam Burgess, but World Cup winner Will Greenwood fully expects England winger Jonny May to hog the headlines from here on out.

The will he won't he debate was settled last week as rugby league convert Burgess was handed a spot in Stuart Lancaster's final 31-man squad, the Bath man selected ahead of Luther Burrell and Billy Twelvetrees.

Now the questions were finally over, England could get down to business in their final Rugby World Cup 2015 warm up game against Ireland on Saturday.

And get down to business they did as the Red Rose recorded a 21-13 victory at Twickenham.

The hosts couldn't have asked for a better start as May touched down after just two minutes, while opposite wing Anthony Watson followed him over the whitewash shortly afterwards.

May has struck twice in England's three Rugby World Cup 2015 matches while Watson has four scores to his name.

And Greenwood, who lifted the Webb Ellis Trophy in 2003, is fully expecting the Gloucester flyer to make a huge impact when the tournament kicks off, even if he has to look over his shoulder at Jack Nowell.

"The form of Jonny May and Anthony Watson in these World Cup warm-up games has been very positive," said Greenwood, speaking as Rugby World Cup 2015 Trophy Tour visited the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials.

"They have such pace which we already knew about but in these last few games they have really demonstrated their ability to finish too with some great tries.

"They work hard, not just when attacking but also in defence, and they have barely put a foot wrong and have proved what a threat they are.

"They have been finishing superbly and Jonny and Anthony have proven they are now two world-class finishers which is great heading into a World Cup.

"But we mustn't discount Jack Nowell either as I can see him having an impact on this tournament still.

"He is a different character and player to Jonny and Anthony but he is very tough and someone who really does need watching off the bench."

England will head into the World Cup on high spirits following their victory over Ireland, Lancaster's side surviving a Paul O'Connell try in the second-half to see the game through.

And while admitting it was far from perfect, Greenwood believes England are in good shape ahead of their Rugby World Cup 2015 opener with Fiji.

"I thought England looked solid against Ireland and there is a good base there," he added. "They worked two good tries and looked good in places.

"It was not quite the perfect performance but if we put a positive spin on things then we don't want to peak too early.

"England have a great squad and everyone has a few differences to their starting XV for Fiji but that just shows the strength in depth available to Lancaster.

"The collective self belief in the squad looks great too so I can't wait for it all to kick off now."
