Brimscombe and Thrupp 2

MAKESHIFT striker Ollie Pitt bagged a brace as Hellenic Premier Division Brimscombe made it back-to-back wins.

However, Binfield took the lead with great counter-attacking move, which saw Jemel Johnson finish with aplomb.

Nonetheless, the Lilywhites almost netted parity on 36 minutes.

Christien Turner’s run into the box dragged in Chris Greenhough’s marker and he found himself free, the defender fired into the box, but his shot was cleared as far as Pitt, who hit the post.

Brimscombe started the second half with new vigour, but the home side were  still dangerous and goalkeeper Steve Sparrow was called on to make a good stop.

The Lilywhites levelled the score in the 71st minute through the impressive Pitt .

Brimscombe thought they had won an 82 minute penalty when David Woodfield was upended.

However, the foul was adjudged to have taken place outside the box. Nonetheless, Pitt curled a superb free-kick over the wall to nose his side ahead.

In the dying embers of the match Sparrow preserved the lead with a superb tip-over.
