FOREST Green captain David Pipe and James Jennings have been slapped with one-game suspensions and will miss tomorrow’s match against Gateshead.
The Football Association rejected an appeal against the red-cards after a behind closed doors friendly against Bath at the end of last season saw manager Ady Pennock usher his players off the pitch in the first half.
Pennock and club secretary James Mooney attended an FA appeal hearing at Wembley on Wednesday.
Pennock said: “I am not happy about what has happened and this is a kick in the teeth, but I have to be careful what I say. I was at Wembley fighting our cause, but it didn’t work out and we’ve got to move on.
“JJ (James Jennings) was back in contention and to lose David is a blow as he has been so consistent this season.”
