West Ham United 0

Forest Green Rovers LFC 3

FOREST Green Ladies completed an FA Western Premier League double over West Ham.

Rovers took the lead in the fifth minute when a free-kick from wide on the left by Jordan Guard evaded everyone and ended up nestling in the corner of the net.

Spurred on by this early success the visitors mounted several promising attacks, and from a goalmouth scramble Karolayne Castro-Alencar was bundled over for a penalty, which Kirsty Richardson dispatched for a 2-0 lead.

With play pretty evenly spread it looked like that would be the half-time score, but from a quick counter-attack Ella Hitchcox ran clear and slotted home for a healthy lead at the break.

The second half saw the Hammers come back at Rovers. Abbie Morrissey had to make a couple of good saves, but with the team working back well they saw the game out comfortably.

Forest Green make the long journey to Ipswich Town in the FA WPL Cup on Sunday.
