RACE entries are still available for the 34th Stroud Half Marathon.
Hosted by Stroud AC and FullonSport, the 13.1 mile race will take place on Sunday, October 25 and more than 1,200 runners are expected to enter.
The Stroud Half will be supporting the Door Youth Project and Allsorts, who help children with disabilities.
Race director Steve Elliott is calling on volunteer marshals to ensure the safety of the athletes on the day.
He said: “I am sure the images of the Gamesmakers from London 2012 Olympics are all still in our thoughts.
“Volunteering in sport, is a fantastic way to get up close and personal with the race, and in doing so indirectly assist the charities that the race is supporting.
“Many of the positive comments from the race in the past, are how friendly and motivational the support team have been.”
