Tom George could have unearthed another Grand National contender after Whats Happening stayed on to good effect to land the winner.co.uk Trophy at Cheltenham.
With this year's Aintree runner-up Saint Are already in his hands, the Slad trainer may consider going down the same route with the eight-year-old after he charged home in the three-mile-one-furlong event.
Although sixth coming over the last, the 10-1 chance found plenty for pressure to get up inside the last 50 yards to defeat Perfect Candidate by two lengths.
George said: "I'm delighted with that as I didn't think he'd be sharp enough for three miles. I thought this would put him right for the three-and-a-half-mile chase at the next meeting - that's what we had in mind and we will probably stick to that.
"Phil Smith (handicapper) said after he won here in April he might be a National horse and he might be right as he stays all day, but he's got a bit of pace about him and keeps it up his sleeve until he needs it."
