FOREST Green academy players have been handed a kit keepsake following their FA Youth Cup exploits.

Despite going out of the cup at Yeovil Town last night, the squad have been able to hold onto their shirts.

The team had been made to wear the kit as both the current home and away options clash with Yeovil’s green and white hoops.

Simon Fortnam Personal Trainer and Kick Off Stroud have both stepped in at short notice to sponsor the kit, which has also been personalised for each individual player.

Head of youth Bartlett said: "We are very grateful for the support shown by both Simon Fortnam and the boys from Kick Off Stroud.

"For them to come forward at such short notice and agree to help without hesitation is touching.

"Their generosity means we can give the shirts to the academy lads as a keepsake, and as a well done for reaching the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup.

"It's also very fitting that it’s two companies that put so much effort and enthusiasm into sport locally."
