DANNY KENT clinched the 2015 Moto3™ World Championship title in tense finale at the Valencia Grand Prix.
Leopard Racing’s Honda rider Kent, from Tetbury, becomes the first British world champion since Barry Sheene in the 500cc class in 1977.
With his main rival Miguel Oliveira taking the win in the 18th and last race of the series, Kent needed to finish at least 14th – he crossed the line in ninth, but only after three riders crashed in front of him on the final corner.
Kent, riding a canny, mature race did what he had to do to lift the title by just six points from Oliveira by 260 points to 254.
