SAINT ARE is set to tackle the Betfred Becher Chase at Aintree following a satisfactory return at Cheltenham on Friday.
Tom George's charge finished third in the Becher last season before going on to claim second place behind Many Clouds in the Grand National.
The nine-year-old had his first outing since that April run when finishing sixth in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase at Cheltenham and George has now set his sights on a return to Aintree.
He said: "Saint Are will be entered for the Betfred Becher Chase on Tuesday.
"He had a nice day out at Cheltenham on Friday, which should have helped blow away the cobwebs before he goes back to Aintree.
"With a horse like him, it is important to keep him happy and I didn't want to give him endless gallops at home.
"The spin he had around the cross country course at Cheltenham was better for him than going for a really competitive handicap chase. He is out in his paddock and looks happy.
"He did slip a couple of times at Cheltenham but I think he probably just found the track a little bit tight."
