Minchinhampton Rams 20
Cirencester II 15
MINCHINHAMPTON Rams and Cirencester battled out a magnificent game of classic rugby.
With the challenging weather and field conditions dictating the flow of the ball, it was the Rams' powerful pack that controlled the scrums.
However, it was Sam Wainwright, playing with speed and finesse, who slotted a penalty from an acute angle.
Once the ball was released through the backs, especially Richmond and Harry, Cirencester were constantly under pressure. Both scored after some quality runs, support and off-loads.
Both sides were fielding novice players and Terry Roseblade for one is showing phenomenal aptitude.
Chris Huggins’ superb line-out throws frequently found James Boulton who played exceptionally well at second row.
However, Sam Knight playing at number eight was awarded man-of-the-match for his ability to turnover procession and change a defensive position to one of attack.
Share article The most impressive pattern of play came from a Rams catch-and-drive line-out on the Cirencester 22, Clint Davies peeling off from the maul to touch down.
Cirencester had some quality players who were a constant threat and in the last ten minutes the Rams had to dig deep to secure a deserved victory.
