A TUMULTUOUS day for Stevenage boss Teddy Sheringham saw the former England star snap-up Forest Green striker Aaron O'Connor on a permanent deal and then lose his job.

The 49-year-old ex-England striker succeeded Graham Westley in the summer, but a run of poor results saw the former Manchester United man axed this afternoon.

O'Connor has been on loan at Broadhall Way since the middle of January, now exits The New Lawn permanently having joined the club from Newport last June and scored nine goals in 12 starts for the Nailsworth side.

Boss Ady Pennock said: “I’d like to thank Aaron for his time here at Forest Green and wish him well for the future.”
