FA Women’s Premier League
Forest Green Rovers LFC 1
Brighton & Hove Albion Ladies 4
Played on a 3G surface at Hartpury College, this game was just as hard as the first one against the league leaders back in August.
Rovers came very close to grabbing a point, with Brighton finding the net three times in the last 10 minutes.
Chances were limited until Albion won a corner in the 42nd minute, and Cooper rose unmarked and powered a header home from six yards, to make it 1-0 to the visitors at the break.
Forest Green were given a lifeline when a handball in the box was seen by the referee, and Kirsty Richardson stepped up to confidently equalise from the spot.
It was now a more open game, and both teams came close to scoring, but the all important second goal, was scuffed home by Albion in an 81st-minute goalmouth scramble, and this body blow to Rovers was followed up with two more goals in the dying minutes.
