CHELTENHAM TOWN boss Gary Johnson has hailed a surprise bottle of bubbly from rival boss Ady Pennock as ‘a bit of class’.
The Robins were crowned National League champions on Saturday and Forest Green boss Pennock showed no bitterness by sending Johnson a special delivery to toast their immediate return to League Two.
Johnson told Robins TV: "We had a lovely little touch as a bottle of Moët arrived in the last couple of days in a package with a card in it.
"When we looked at the card it came from Ady Pennock at Forest Green."
And Johnson feels Rovers still have a lot to play for, he added: "Credit to him for that as he's been humble in defeat, if you can call it defeat for them.
"They haven't lost yet as they have still a lot to play for, but I thank him for the gesture. That was a nice touch and a bit of class. We wish him well for the play-offs."
