Joe Clarke was dismissed for a career-best 135 as Worcestershire gained maximum batting points and a first innings lead of 31 over Gloucestershire on the third day of the Specsavers County Championship match at the Brightside Ground, Bristol.
The 19-year-old had hit 17 fours when bowled by Liam Norwell with a good delivery that nipped back off the seam as his side progressed from an overnight 297 for five to 411 all out, Ben Cox contributing 69 and Matt Henry 42 not out.
Gloucestershire overtook the deficit without losing a wicket as Chris Dent and Cameron Bancroft put together and opening stand of 49 before the latter was caught behind off Ed Barnard for 29.
Dent was unbeaten on 45 at tea, having added 80 with a confident looking Ian Cockbain (48 not out) and at 129 for one the hosts led by 98.
