DAN Cooper is hopeful of taking part in next week’s Isle of Man TT despite dislocating his shoulders last week.

Cooper was taken to hospital following a high-speed crash at the North West 200 in Northern Ireland.

Cooper, 28, and Ryan Farquhar came off on the third lap of the Supertwins race.

Farquhar was moved to general ward last week, but has now returned to intensive care in Belfast Royal Victoria despite looking well last week.

Meanwhile, Cooper is hoping to take part at practice this weekend after extensive physio treatment.

Cooper said: “My one shoulder is still causing discomfort, but I have had excellent support from Jason Ford at the Stroud Sports Clinic and Claire Smith at Cotswold Chiropractic, and I’m hoping I can take part in the practise sessions on Saturday.”

Mindful of his recent injury, Cooper is likely to race on the smaller bikes that can reach speeds of 170mph.
