A SPECTATOR has made a plaque in tribute to a much-loved motorcyclist from Stroud who died in the Isle of Man TT races.

Bob Price, 65, died after a collision in the Supersport category race two years ago when Cinzia Powell was watching the event.

Riders from Stroud came to see the plaque made by Cinzia unveiled at The Raven Pub in Ballaugh, the village where the race had happened, on June 5 to mark the second anniversary.

A picture of Bob riding his motorbike and wearing his signature white helmet in the 1980s also adorns a wall in the pub.

Friends paid tribute to popular Bob after the tragedy two years ago.

Fred Redding said: "Bob was an excellent mechanic and rider.

“He was a very good friend and we had a lot of good times together.

“He will be dearly missed.”

Mr Price owned a car body repair shop on Chalford Industrial Estate.

Having first competed in the TT in 1992, 'Bomb', as he was known, was an enthusiastic rider who achieved a podium position in the MGP Junior Classic and Senior Classic rides in 2002.

Friend John Cooper said: "He was a genuinely nice guy. He was a very calm person who we never saw upset."
