Sporting Club Olhanense 0
Forest Green 2
SAM RUSSELL kept a clean sheet in Portugal for Forest Green in his first outing since his return to the club.
Russell had been nursing a muscle pull but started in the 2-0 win over Sporting Club Olhanense.
After a blank first half, new striker Matt Tubbs came on at the break for Mark Cooper's side and scored his second goal of pre-season as he headed in after an assist by Mohamed Chemlal.
Liam Noble made it two with a sumptuous fee-kick from 35 yards.
The squad return to England late on Friday following a further two days of training, and then embark on the final series of warm up matches.
