By Mike Waring
Minchinhampton’s young cricketers had a thrill at their end of season medal awards when Gloucestershire’s long-serving New Zealand International Hamish Marshall dropped into Stuart Fields to help with the coaching session.
Hamish helped coaches Alex Waring, Leah Morrison and Justin Hodges with their under 9’s and under-11’s sessions before presenting each of the children with a merit medal and gifts for coaches and parents who had helped make the season such a success.
An added bonus on the night was the under-11’s players learning they had won the SDCA B League.
After signing autographs and having his picture taken, Hamish joined the coaches and committee to share some of his international and Gloucestershire cricket memories in what was an evening to remember.
