GLOUCESTERSHIRE have signed wicket keeper/batsman Phil Mustard on loan from Durham as cover for the injured Gareth Roderick who is out for up to six weeks.

Mustard could go straight into the side for their Royal London 50-Over Cup game against Surrey at the Kia Oval tomorrow.

He will not be available for selection should Gloucestershire and Durham meet in the knockout stages of any limited-overs competition.

Last week Durham CCC told the 33-year-old Mustard that his contract would not be renewed next season.

Phil has given Durham 16 years of service and this season he has been their top scorer in the NatWest T20 Blast.

Gloucestershire head coach, Richard Dawson said: “It’s great that Phil has joined us for the rest of the season after Gareth’s finger injury.

"He brings with him vast experience and match winning abilities which I’m sure he will show while at Gloucestershire.”
