Forest Green Rovers' defender Jon Moran has joined National League North side Altrincham on a one-month loan.

Moran, 19, is available to be selected for Altrincham’s August Bank Holiday matches with Curzon Ashton and Kidderminster Harriers this weekend.

Signed from Northern Premier League outfit Nantwich Town in the summer, the highly rated centre-back has yet to make a first team appearance.

He signed a two-year deal in June and in doing so became Mark Cooper’s first new signing following his appointment as manager.

Moran started his career in the much respected youth system at Crewe Alexandra before catching the eye playing a full season of senior football at Nantwich last year.

He will also be eligible to play for Alty in their hotly anticipated derby with Stockport County at the start of September and among other fixtures will be their trip to Gloucester City on 10 September.

With Olly Mehew and Blake Davies having secured loan moves to Mangotsfield United and Aberystwyth Town respectively, Moran becomes the third Forest Green youngster to recently go out on loan.
