FORMER Premier League and England Under-21 star Dave Smith is to embark on a gruelling 1,000 mile bike ride.
Over 12 gruelling days, the former Coventry City, West Brom and Grimsby Town winger will cycle from the most south-westerly point of England at Land’s End, along the Welsh border, the Lake District and the Highlands to reach John O’Groats in the Scottish Highlands.
Smith, 48, a former Maidenhill pupil and current Grimsby Town commercial manager is raising money for the club's youth section.
The ride will start on Tuesday.
